You make me want to strive
to be a better person
to take a plunge and dive
You're such a good person
much more that I thought you would be
and all this time I thought it was you who needed to grow up
when really, it was me
I was surprised when I called you
to find out how much you've changed
although I'd expected you to be different
it was still a little strange
You've grown up to be a wonderful young man now
no longer the little boy I once knew
and yet you are still that charming handsome old you
I lie awake thinking now
of all the things that were said
of all the things you told me
they just wont leave my head
You see, you spoke with such maturity
of someone beyond your age
that quite frankly sweetheart
you took my breath away
It's funny how these things work out sometimes
how everything falls into place
when you suddenly realize what you were looking for
was right in front of your face
I've just got to be patient now
which we both know is hard for me to do
But I'll do absolutely anything
so long as I end up with you
