Ever since they were kids
they never left each others sides
up the jungle gym
or down the slippery slide

All through primary school
they were never known to be apart
they were the inseparable pair
always in each others hearts

They went through the tough times together
the times they thought were the end
but they pulled each other up
and said there hearts will mend

As high school came along
they began to realize
how much they truly loved each other
they could see it in there eyes

that night a call was received
with him on the other end
he told her he had cancer
and told her to pray for the wound to mend

The boy explained softly
of the cancer thats been discovered
and reminded the girl that she belonged always to his heart
and to pray for a cure to be uncovered

They Hadley spoke any more
because the fear was to much
they just prayed it wasn't the end
and that moment was the last time they'd touch

3 weeks later he passed away
leaving a kiss apon her hand
he died with a smile on his face
knowing hell be remembered for as long as she can

But he didn't die knowing
that not later after him
the love of his life would follow
wrapped in his arms would she also begin to turn dim

So that night they lay there silently
wrapped in each others arms together
they both died happily
knowing they will love each other forever

~*~dedicated to my best friends Amy and Travis, 1989 - 2005, may they rest in peace!~*~*~
